December 2011 Trip to East Africa with Micato Safaris

We all have our bucket list and “Africa” has been at the top of mine.  We may be the last generation to see Africa in its true glory and I want to experience its magical sights and sounds of wildlife and tribal cultures while they still exist.  Our first experience with this huge continent is with the very best safari company “Micato Safaris”.  We are exploring East Africa, the countries of Kenya and Tanzania.

Just Back from the Island of Curacao!

Beach Time!

My family is getting ready for our annual trek to the Outer Banks for our family beach vacation.  Every year all the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins look forward to this family gathering and enjoy 7 days of warm sun, sand, and seawater.  This will be our 22nd year for this wonderful pilgrimage and after this many years of beaching it we have it down to a system for a carefree happy vacation.  I thought I would share with you some of these must do ideas for traveling to the beach with your family.  I would love to hear any of your Beach tips!

Where does one begin?  All kinds of adjectives come to mind to describe the Alaska I experienced…majestic, grand, regal, splendid, impressive, magnificent, cold, wet, sunny, massive, beautiful, balanced, miraculous, ever changing, wild, towering, monumental, stately, commanding, imposing, and awe inspiring are just a few.

Kim Heacox an award-winning author and photographer from National Geographic described Alaska as “the Africa of America”!  What a perfect description.  It says it all.
